Atrium Health Navicent

Project Details

Client: Atrium Health
Date: 1.25.21
Project Manager: Allison Turbeville

Project Description

It all began as a 2 story, eight room brick residence in the 1840’s and soon grew to include operating rooms and wards located in outbuildings on the property behind the main facility.  It initially served a population of about 22,000 residents but over time it grew and expanded its care and services to include a 637 bed hospital and service to roughly 750,000 residents in central and southern Georgia, quickly being named as the 2nd largest hospital in the state of Georgia.

In 2019 Navicent Health entered into a strategic partnership with Charlotte, NC based Atrium health. Both systems share a similar mission and vision and both seek to bring better care to everyone in the south east from North Carolina to Georgia.

When the partnership was announced in 2019 we didn’t know yet what that meant for us. Fast forward to November of 2020 when we were engaged and asked to provide proposals for changing out key branding elements for a large scale reveal in late January of 2021. Naturally, we were up for the challenge and our Senior Project manager, Allison Turbeville, took the project in stride and hit the ground running. Allison collaborated with our designers, Atrium Health’s marketing team and their senior leadership to make sure everything was in order for the rollout. After all approvals, we were asked to manufacture 3 channel letter sets that were at least 6’ tall.  1 of the channel letter sets mounted to a roof top grid system, posed its own set of challenges. Not only was it on a roof that didn’t have any safety barrier at the edge, but it sat adjacent to the hospital’s helipad that brings in the facilities most critical patients. We installed scaffolding that tied back to the steel structure to maintain our crew’s safety as well as being in constant communication with the emergency services personnel about the arrival and departure of the Life Flight helicopters.

We also manufactured and installed 2 other channel letter sets and monument style signage for 2 other facilities. All together the manufacturing and installation process lasted roughly 8 weeks and the reveal event went off without a hitch.

Over the next year our partnership will expand to change over the rest of the signage on the hospital campus as well as many physician offices under the Navicent Health name. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Atrium Health Navicent in the future and are honored that they chose to work with us on this endeavor.

Project Details

Client: Tryon Medical Partners

Project Manager: James Neely

Project Description

Although this group of over 85 physicians had been practicing for many years, they took the opportunity to form their own practice in the Charlotte area. The 8 initial locations are spread across the area in Steele Creek, Ballantyne, Waverly, Matthews, Pineville, Huntersville, South Park and in Uptown Charlotte.

We were selected by Tryon Medical Partners to design, manufacture, and install all signage across all locations for this newly established independent medical practice. This included all vinyl graphics for entry doors, ADA compliant interior signage for every room inside the clinic, digital signage for physician directories and exterior letter sets to provide a clear destination for patients. We were honored to be selected for this process and worked closely with their architects, general contractors and management team to achieve a high level of success. Over the entire scope of the project we manufactured and installed over 980 signs. The highlight was installing two sets of 3’ tall channel letters at the top of their South Park office where they occupy 4 floors of a 10 story building and needed their name to be seen, to direct patients to the facility.

Take a look at the video to see the process! We couldn’t have done it without our dedicated designers, craftsmen and women and our installation crews who spent hours at each site making sure everything was perfect. We can’t thank Tryon Medical Partners enough for their trust in us and we look forward to a lasting partnership as they continue to grow.

Village at Plantation Estates

Village at Plantation Estates

Project Details

Client: ACTS Retirement – Life Communities
Date: 1.26.18
Project Manager: Christine Morgan

Project Description

We have developed a relationship over the past 5 years with ACTS Retirement-Life Communities and the folks within their construction department. This led to us being involved in multiple renovation projects throughout North and South Carolina. In each case we have provided consultation, design, manufacturing and installation services.

The Village at Plantation Estates was no different, although the scope for this one was quite large. We started with initial meetings with the general contractor and end users within ACTS, during the land development and early construction phases to make sure we provided all of the signage that they would need for inspections at each building, 18 total, (7 apartment buildings, 10 villas and 1 Clubhouse).

RP Signs then played an integral role in designing a signage program that would complement the architecture of the buildings, incorporate the color schemes as well as design eye catching signage that would communicate messages and would guide residents and visitors effectively. With this came monument signs, wayfinding signage, apartment and villa signage that assigned each building a name and number along with ADA compliant interior signage for each resident and support rooms. Letter sets were included to mark key destinations within the facility to provide easy wayfinding.  For installation, we developed coded floor plans and sign drawings with numbers and tags to make the installation as easy as possible on our crews as we moved from one building to the next.

RP Signs was brought on-board for the project in March of 2016 and dedicated a project manager to it until it’s substantial completion in January of 2018.

Project Description

This project consisted of custom acrylic signs that we fabricated and donated to Imua Family Services in Kahului, Maui, HI. You can read more about our company’s connection to Hawaii, and this organization, here.

The signs were made with a dark green opaque frosted acrylic and a more translucent frosted acrylic to match. Copy was either raised with braille, to meet ADA requirements when necessary, or flatbed printed directly to the acrylic for informational signs. Some signs had images of local flowers laser etched into them for a subtle effect.

Project Details

Client: T.MAC
Date: 8.5.14
Project Manager: James Neely

Project Description

Here’s another one of a kind project, where we were not only fabricating new signage for this T.MAC location but also fabricating an awning for the front entrance.

The entire structure is 16 feet tall, almost 11 feet wide and 6 feet deep. Steel tubing and angle were welded to create the main structure and then faced with pole covers that were CNC router cut and bent on a break press. One side of the awning holds a tempered glass screen wall. The middle is composed of rolled aluminum tubing and has Sunbrella Jockey Red awning fabric stretched over the framing to create a fully covered entry to the restaurant.

The face of the awning consists of a 2 layer LED illuminated logo. The back portion of the logo is a 5 inch deep aluminum can with  1/4″ thick push thru copy, while the top can is 4 inches deep with a translucent T.MAC logo printed on the acrylic face.

The T.Mac letters are also 5 inches deep and LED illuminated, while the tagline is 1/4 inch thick plate aluminum letters mounted to the face.

A nice feature of this awning is the service panel we built into the back of the letter area where all the electrical components can be accessed if service is necessary.
