RP Signs Cares – 2016

RP Signs has participated in several charity events this spring. We were a sponsor for the Queens University of Charlotte Annual Up ‘til Dawn Event benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Our next event was for the Queens University of Charlotte 10th Annual Billy O. Wireman Memorial Golf Tournament held at Myers Park Country Club. We donated all of the signage for this event.

Two weeks later we donated all signage for the South Mecklenburg High School Sabre Invitational Golf Tournament held at Raintree Country Club benefiting the football program. Four days later RP Signs was a table sponsor for The Fifth Annual Hearts For Rehab Event benefiting Adaptive Sports, Clinical, Educational and Research Programs at Carolinas Rehabilitation. This event was held at Hilton Center City. Three days after that RP Signs donated all course signs and banners for the 11th Annual Matthews Free Medical Clinic Golf Tournament held at Raintree Country Club with all proceeds going directly to patient care. On May the 16th we had the 20th Annual Hospice of Union County Golf Tournament. Again we donated all course signage for this event held at Providence Country Club.

We still have one event coming up, on June 6, 2016 we will donate all course signage for the Save Your Skin Melanoma Awareness Golf Classic organized by Carolinas HealthCare Foundation benefiting the Levine Cancer Institute and held at Carmel Country Club.

We look forward each year to these events and helping the community and the clients we work with. When fall arrives we will have another large number of events that we donate to and participate in.

Signage 101

RP Signs’ Project Manager Christine Morgan taught the Architectural Signage segment for the graduate level course “Commercial Design Studio 2” at Queens University (2015 Spring Semester).  The topics covered included, but not limited to, were codes and regulations, signage program development, integration with projects, and considerations during design and implementation. Thanks to David Hite of Hite Architecture and the graduate students at Queens University for this opportunity.

Letters of the Law

RP Signs was selected to fabricate and install all exterior signage for the Charlotte School of Law’s new location in the Charlotte Plaza Building. There was a great level of detail involved as each sign had to be engineered because of the different mounting situations.

The sign on the glass elevation needed to be fabricated to attach to the glass curtain wall of the building utilizing the existing structural window system.

The sign mounted on the parking deck also required the same attention to detail including a scan of the parking deck wall to locate all structural rebar and Prestressed cables. We partnered with the local firm, GPRS to work with us on this portion of the project. GPRS recommended the use of a  1600 Mghz antenna to locate all components built into the walls and marked all areas near the mounting points of our signage.

Tucker’s Room

In December, RP Signs was proud to partner with Novant Health Foundation at Presbyterian Medical Center to provide signage for Tucker’s Room, a special waiting area for parents of premature babies. You can read more about the space and about Tucker’s story here and see pictures of our signs below.

Rebranding T.MAC

We are excited to announce that T.MAC Sports Grill (formerly Taco Mac) has chosen to partner with RP Signs for all signage related to their rebranding initiative as well as all new construction and renovation projects.

When T.MAC contacted us and asked if we could change out two of their restaurants in four weeks, we jumped at the opportunity and we were confident our team could handle this challenge. We provided code checks, permits and shop drawings, as well as completing fabrication and install, all within the four week deadline.

T.MAC has not only been a great client to have, but also a great place to enjoy delicious food and drinks. Be sure and check out their website for a location close to you!

Thanks again to the folks at T.MAC and welcome to the RP Signs family.
